The local utility company by law must give you grid access and accept all electricity produced by your PV system and pay you for it at a price determined by the German government that is fixed for 20 years (Guaranteed by German EEG Law), which is also the maximum lifetime of the loan. Returns over this period of funds invested average minimum 15% p.a. - after costs and finance.
The cost of the entire PV system can be depreciated by 5% every year for 20 years, making it totally tax deductible.
Once the capital is paid off on a 20 year loan, the returns to the investor increase substantially for the remainder of the PV systems life, expected to last 35-40 years.
All equipment used is made in Germany, independently tested and rated, and is Guaranteed to produce 80% of its capacity, even after 25 years!
There are minimal wind-down costs the project can even include an agreement with the manufacturer to dismantle and take back the PV system at "end of life".
We at Green Investments have used conservative figures for our calculations so the returns projected for clients are the minimum they can expect, assuming average hours of sunshine (based on weather data collated by the German weather bureau from 1981-2000). For example, energy inflation has averaged 9% in Germany over the last 10 years. We have allowed for only 5% inflation within the calculations for German projects. Inflation is the investors friend as the higher electricity prices go, the higher the returns will be for investors.
If electricity prices rise above the Guaranteed level, an investor may choose to break the contract with the local utility supplier and sell their electricity on the open market, increasing their prices as the utiltiy companies increase their prices. The utility company cannot break the initial contract during the 20 year agreed period.

Direction and advice regarding banking, regulatory bodies and legal requirements

An investor need only sign bank, company set-up, contractor, utility, and insurance contracts.
We will supply investors with a weblink where you can log in and monitor the electricity produced by your PV system from your own computer. You can see how much electricity was produced by your PV system in a given day, week, month, or year. Multiply this by the rate you are Guaranteed to receive for 20 years or the rate you are charging on the open market and you can see how much you have earned!
Payments to you are made by the utility company either quarterly, bi-annually or annually. We will arrange for the bank to set your finance payments to match this schedule.
