Costa Almeria Property Spain

Perhaps the most diverse of all the Costas. Everything from popular resorts to rocky coves which include some of the least visited beaches in Southern Spain.

The Costa Almeria is as varied as any of the Spanish Coasts. The coast is completely unspoilt. To the east of Almeria you will find the beautiful desolate coast of the Cabo de Gata natural park. With an arid desert landscape and annual rainfall of less than 200mm it is no surprise that the Costa Almeria is the driest place in Europe. Sparsely populated with few villages and a very low population density. Visitors feel a sense of space, freedom  and exploration here as many of the coves can only be reached by foot or boat. This area is particularly popular with nature lovers and back-packers. One of the most popular coastal villages in this area is San Jose which is a small township of only 175 residents, though it is becoming increasingly popular as a holiday resort. It is located around a shallow bay towards the southern end of Cabo de Gata. There is a refreshing lack of high rise development here, you may even find the town with sandy streets. There is also a natural park and comes with one of the finest beaches on the Cabo de Gata.

West of Almeria is the highly developed tourist resorts of Roquetas de Mar with La Envia golf resort nearby where you can buy ready to move into apartments with fantastic views. These have all the facilities of any modern resort to satisfy the needs of holiday makers.

East of Almeria is Mojacar which successfully looks after those wanting a beach holiday and nightlife with those requiring more demure holiday facilities, especially in the quaint hillside white village that tourists love to explore.

A few minutes drive from here is the quiet fishing village of Villaricos where you can buy apartments literally a stones throw from the sea. With seafront paseos, some nice cafes and a distinctly relaxed feel, Villaricos is a great place to un-wind.

The city of Almeria is worth a visit to see the Alcazaba castle overlooking the metropolis.

To the west we find the developing complex of Almerimar with Marinas, golf, hotels and many other facilities.

The old fishing port town of Adra lies further west. In spite of the interesting castle and assorted archeological remains not many visitors come here as the main road veers away. So, do come here to experience a lovely quiet place where you can enjoy a peaceful walk in the freash sea air and de-stress!
